Profiteroles are the perfect little snack for any festive occasion. Despite their reputation, these are quick and easy to make. You can make profiteroles and freeze them well in advance of your special celebration.
6 dl water
300 g butter or margarine
4 ¼ dl wheat flour
1 dl whipped cream or foamy vanilla sauce
100 g vegetable-based vanilla cream cheese or curd
1 ½ dl Bonne Strawberry Purée
2-4 tbsp sugar
Bring the water and the fat to boil in a pot. Add the flour, mixing vigorously with a wooden fork, until the mixture forms a solid ball. Let cool. Beat in the eggs individually. Using a piping bag or a spoon, place small dollops of the dough on a lined baking tray, and bake at 200 degrees for about 20 min. Let cool.
Whip the cream or vanilla sauce, add the vegetable-based cream cheese as well as the strawberry purée and sugar.
Using a knife, make a small incision into each profiterole and stuff with filling. Store in a cool place until you are ready to serve. Sieve icing sugar on top.
